All 18 teams submit entry for 20-21 season

Until entry deadline all 18 teams of Alps Hockey League’s past season have submitted their participation declarations for the upcoming 2020/21 campaign. The fifth season is planned to start on September 12th.

“We are glad that all 18 clubs have submitted their entries for the upcoming campaign of Alps Hockey League. Together they have made a very positive statement to all fans, sponsors and partners. I can promise, that despite the current situation according the corona virus, all clubs and the league organization each are working extremely hard to have everything ready for a successful season 20-21”, says Matjaz Rakovec, chairman of the Board of Governors.

The start of the new Alps Hockey League season is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 - subject to further developments concerning the corona virus. “Although the entire sports world is at a standstill now in every participating country, we see it as an important task to continue working without interruption and to prepare all the necessary measures together with our teams for a league start in September”, Tommaso Teofoli, member of the BOG, mentions.

“We are very positive about a scheduled start of the season and will be ready to start on time. However, we are of course looking at all developments in connection with the corona virus pandemic very closely. We will evaluate the information and will consider all the specifications of the governments of our member states”, completed Alexander Gruber, BOG member.

AHL family stand together
Despite the difficult times, the Alps Hockey League family presents itself more united than ever - and draws attention to hidden heroes of the corona crisis in the course of the "Hidden Heroes" campaign. "Our initiative has been incredibly well received throughout the AHL region. Fans, supporters and those affected are using our stage to thank the hidden heroes of this challenging time", Christian Feichtinger, Managing Director of the Alps Hockey League, reports on this cross-federation, cross-league and cross-club project of the ice hockey family.
