All four quarter-final series in the Alps Hockey League are 2-0 after two games. EK Die Zeller Eisbären won 3-2 at EC Bregenzerwald, while the Rittner Buam SkyAlps celebrated a narrow 4-3 away win at HC Meran/o Picher. SIJ Acroni Jesenice won at S.G. Cortina Hafro 4:1 and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan secured the only home win of the evening with a 2:1 win against Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel.

Master Round champion EK Die Zeller Eisbären fought hard for a narrow 3:2 away win against EC Bregenzerwald. Lorenz Lindner scored the game-winner with just eight and a half minutes left in regulation. Earlier, Luca Erne had equalized for the hosts from Vorarlberg in the 46th minute after Zell am See had already taken a 2-0 lead in the first period. The team from Pinzgau had also won Game one with a 3:1 score.

Szypula hat-trick leads Ritten to victory
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps secured a narrow 4:3 win over HC Meran/o Pircher. The standout player of the night was Ethan Szypula, who delivered a hat-trick. The Canadian scored to make it 0:1, 2:3, and he scored the game-winning 4:3 goal with eight minutes left in regulation. On the Meran side, Teruto Nakajima made his mark with two goals. With this victory, the defending champions also secured their second win of the series, having previously won Game one with a dominant 3:0 performance.

Jesenice claims convincing away win
After narrowly winning Game one against S.G. Cortina Hafro with a 2:1 overtime victory, SIJ Acroni Jesenice delivered a dominant 4:1 away win this time. The visitors took the lead in the fifth minute, but Cortina managed to equalize shortly before the first intermission. However, just like in Game one, the Italians could only score once. In the second period, Gregor Koblar put Jesenice back in front, while Tom Sojer extended the lead to 3:1 early in the final period. Jaka Sturm sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Sterzing holds strong at home – Dominik Groh shines
The only home victory of the evening belonged to the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. After being the only team to win an away game on the first matchday (5:4 in Kitzbühel), they followed up with a narrow 2:1 home win. Lukas De Lorenzo Meo put the hosts ahead in the 26th minute with a power-play goal. The lead remained until the 43rd minute when Niklas Ketonen equalized for Kitzbühel. However, just 76 seconds later, Connor Sanvido restored the lead for the Broncos. The visitors couldn’t find another goal, as Sterzing’s goaltender Dominik Groh put on a stellar performance with an incredible 54 saves.
