After the clear 3:0 victory the day before, Almaty had to tremble for a place in the final. The team from Bolzano took the lead after just two minutes, but a brace from Lauren Nicholson (16th, 25th) turned the game in Aisulu's favour. However, two Eagles goals within six minutes turned it around again - 2:3. Jacquie Pierri even scored the fourth goal for the South Tyroleans in the third period. Despite good chances, Bolzano was unable to equalise the overall score, meaning that Almaty was the first team to reach the final.

The second semi-final second leg will take place on Sunday between HK PSRZ Bratislava and the Sabres St. Pölten. The Slovakians won 2:1 away from home on Friday.
