The Alps Hockey League kicks off its new season on Saturday, September 20. Thirteen teams will participate in the tenth season of the multinational league. The schedule for the 2025/26 season initially includes 36 regular season games per team. Right at the start, there will be a rematch of last season's final between defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären and SIJ Acroni Jesenice.

Thirteen teams from Italy (7), Austria (4), Slovenia (1), and Croatia (1) will compete in the Alps Hockey League's anniversary season. The first match day will see a rematch of last year's final between champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären and SIJ Acroni Jesenice. In April, the Pinzgau team won the series 4-1 and became the first Austrian team to be crowned champions of the multinational league. Returning team Asiago will start the season with a visit to the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. In addition, a South Tyrol derby between the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan is on the schedule. EC Bregenzerwald will be the only team not in action at the start of the season.

Top 5 teams secure direct playoff spots
After the regular season with 36 games per team, the top 5 teams qualify directly for the playoffs and compete in the Master Round for the best starting position. The remaining eight teams compete in two Qualification Round groups for a place in the Pre-Playoffs, where the three remaining quarter-final spots are decided. Both the Master Round and the Qualification Round are played in a home-and-away format.
