On November 20, during the Alps Hockey League game between HC Meran/o Pircher and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, a racist incident occurred involving a player of the visiting team. A fine has been imposed on Merano. Both the league and the club strongly distance themselves from the incident.

After the game, during the post-game handshake, the affected player was confronted with racist insults from Merano fans. The league immediately initiated an investigation. Both clubs and the game officials submitted their statements on time, which were reviewed by the Disciplinary Commission. In addition to the imposed fine, HC Meran/o Pircher implemented further internal measures and issued stadium bans.
