HK SZ Olimpija (5.) and EC-KAC II (17.) will fight for their first win in the year 2018 on Thursday at Ljubljana. Both clubs started the new year with a defeat on Tuesday. The Slovenes won the first two season-meetings 6:0 and 3:1.

With the Red Bull Hockey Juniors (12.) and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (3.) the two best defensive teams will face on Thursday at Salzburg. The Mozart Citizens received so far just 52 goals from 21 games, the „Red Steelers“ got 57 goals from 27 games. Both clubs started the year 2018 with a victory. On Thursday the two teams will face for the first time this season at Salzburg. The first two meetings took place in the Steel City and brought one win for Jesenice (3:2) and one win for Salzburg (3:1).

HC Pustertal Wolves (4.) and HC Fassa Falcons (16.) showed different faces lately: While the Falcons lost the last twelve games, the Wolves won the last five matches. Lately Bruneck also played strong defense: The Wolves received just three goals in the last three rounds, the year 2018 Bruneck even opened with a Shut Out win. Besides HC Pustertal Wolves won the last four meetings with Fassa.

HC Neumarkt Riwega (15.) and WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan (9.) will fight for their first win 2018 on Thursday at Neumarkt. Both clubs lost their first game 2018 on Tuesday. The Broncos won so far all three season-clashes with the wild-geese (7:2, 5:1, 7:2) and celebrated their last win last week at home against HCN.

On Thursday EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel (13.) will be in action for the first time 2018. The Eagles welcome EK Zeller Eisbären (10.). The Tyroleans convinced so far at home: The Eagles collected already 29 points (ten wins) from 14 home-games this season and scored 59 goals. Lately the Tyroleans beat EC Bregenzerwald infront of their fans with 4:1. Different is the situation at EK Zeller Eisbären. The Pinzgauer are better placed, but lost their last four games. The last four meetings – including one friendly game – ended with home-wins.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 (2.) and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (14.) started the year 2018 with a win! But meetings between the „Yellow-Reds“ and the „Furies“ were won lately by just one team: Asiago had the upper-hand In the last ten clashes and was successful in all home-games so far. Besides the Vice-Champion is the team of the hour, the first persecutor of Leader Rittner Buam won the last nine games in the Alps Hockey League.

Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro (8.) and Leader Rittner Buam (1.) had a different run in the last five rounds: While the Leader got three wins lately after losing twice first, Cortina did it the other way. The Rittner Buam, who scored so far the highest number of goals (122), were successful in the last five meetings with Cortina.

With their new Tryout Forward Curtis Loik FBI VEU Feldkirch welcomes EC Bregenzerwald on Friday. The Vorarlberg-derby is also the meeting of the best Austrian clubs and two neighbours in the standing. The VEU is Sixth with 54 points (18 wins) from 28 games. The Wälder follow one place behind with 46 points (15 wins) from 29 games. Lately the VEU convinced at home. Since the International Break Feldkirch won all six home-games. Besides the VEU was successful in the last three derbys against ECB.
