EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau – HC Pustertal Wolves
EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and HC Pustertal Wolves will meet in the persecutor-clash at Lustenau on Saturday and will fight for the second place. The start into the Master Round was different for the two clubs: While the Austrians won at Jesenice on Wednesday 4:2 and made a jump forward in the ranking from place 4 to place 2, the Italians on the other side lost their first game in the Intermediate Round at home vs. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 and stayed without points in SKY Alps Hockey League for the first time after before ten wins in a row. Besides the Italians lost one place in the ranking and are now on the third place. On Saturday EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and HC Pustertal Wolves will face now in the persecutor-clash. The Austrians played strong at home so far in the year 2017, won all three home-games and lately also were on Fire. Besides Lustenau was the last place, were the Italians have lost on December 6th 2016 in SKY Alps Hockey League. Since that day the Wolves have celebrated five road-wins in a row. The first two season-clash ended with close wins for the home-club.
FBI VEU Feldkirch – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice
FBI VEU Feldkirch and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice had a bad start into the Master Round! The Austrians lost their opener at Rittner Buam clearly 1:6, five goals the west-club received between minute 48 and 58! So the Austrains stayed in the Master Round the bottom club with 0 points. Jesenice on the other side lost against EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau at home 2:4 and fall down in the ranking to place 5. On Saturday FBI VEU Feldkirch and HDD SIJ Aroni Jesenice will fight now at Feldkirch for their first win in the Master Round. In the fight for the Pick Right and home advantage for the Quarterfinals both teams would need (three) points, to stay in touch with the Top 4. In the season-cash the Slovenes are leading 2:0, but both games ended by just one goal difference (3:2, 4:3). The last meeting was just a few weeks ago: On January 3rd 2017 the „Red Steelers“ won at Feldkirch with 4:3. The Slovenes then got two more road-wins, while the VEU could not win at home since that defeat.
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 – Rittner Buam
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 and Rittner Buam had a perfect start into the Master Round on Wednesday! Frederic Cloutier and Co. celebrated in their first game in Master Round a 2:1-win at HC Pustertal Wölfe and made a jump forward in the ranking to place 4, which would mean home-advantage in the Quarterfinals. The Rittner Buam celebrated on Wednesday a clear 6:1-home-win over FBI VEU Feldkirch - five goals the Italians Champion scored between minute 48 and 58 – and already run away at the top of the table again! Just a few days after winning the Italian title at Asiago the Rittner Buam must travel there on Saturday again. To Asiago the team of Head Coach Riku Lehtonen comes with good memories: Ritten won the first two season-clashes and got there the Italian titel, beeting Asiago in the finals after beeing back 0:2 with 3:2. Three times the Wälder traveled in the past already to the Mozart City, the west-club always lost and even did not score (0:4,0:4,0:5). The Red Bull Hockey Juniors on the other side got points from their last four home-games, twice the Mozart Citizens even left the ice as the winner.

The Carinthians on the other side lost their last four home-games.
