New Goalie for the Caps

The spusu Vienna Capitals have signed American netminder Peyton Jones for the remainder of the season. The Pennsylvania native, who has also held German citizenship since September, most recently played in the ECHL for the Indy Fuel, where he impressed with an outstanding .964 save percentage. The Capitals' previous goaltender, Anders Lindbäck, is leaving the club, and the return of injured Tyler Parks remains uncertain.

Before turning pro, Jones spent two years in the USHL and then had a successful collegiate career at Penn State University, where he set multiple records and earned numerous accolades. He appeared in 133 games for the Nittany Lions, posting a 90.7% save percentage—the second-best in the university's history.

Since 2020, Jones has been playing professionally and was active in the U.S. with the Colorado Eagles and Utah Grizzlies before moving to Europe in 2022. There, he had stints in the British Elite Ice Hockey League before returning to the ECHL. This season, the 28-year-old shined with the Indy Fuel and was recently picked up by the Capitals.
