HC Migross Asiago celebrated their fourth win in the last five matches on Thursday. Head coach John Parco’s team trailed Gröden 0-2 until the 54th minute but turned the game around and eventually took the victory in a shootout. Sisak, meanwhile, suffered their first home defeat yesterday: despite leading 3-0, the Croatians lost in overtime against Zell am See. The league leaders have collected ten points from their last five games, making them the second-best team in that span – behind Asiago.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps jumped to second place thanks to an overtime win at Unterland. Their next opponent, Meran, suffered a clear defeat in Kitzbühel and currently sit ninth. The two teams have already met eight times this calendar year, with the two-time AHL champions from Klobenstein winning five of those encounters.

HC Gherdeina lost for the second time in a row, falling to third place after being defeated by Asiago. The South Tyroleans now visit HDD Jesenice, who have won two straight and climbed to tenth place. The Slovenians go into the game with added confidence, having won the last three head-to-head meetings.

Kitzbühel bounced back with a clear 8-3 win over Meran. The fourth-placed Tyroleans have won all four home games so far and now host Cortina. The Italians currently sit in eleventh place but are only four points behind the top five. Cortina have managed just one victory from their last five games, yet their all-time AHL record against Kitzbühel is positive: they have won 14 of 21 meetings.

On Friday evening, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors face EC Bregenzerwald. Both teams are also in action on Saturday: Salzburg will visit the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – the Sterzing side have won the last five direct encounters.

Bregenzerwald’s Salzburg road trip ends with a game against sixth-placed EK Zeller Eisbären. The reigning champions are unbeaten in three games and have defeated the Vorarlberg team nine times in a row.
