Asiago is back on top

The S.G. Cortina Hafro won the top duel against HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. The leader of the league before the round started with high pressure into the game and built a 2:0 lead in the first period. Cortina came back strong and tied the game in the second period. After a goalless third period and also an overtime with no goals the decision had to be found in shootout. Cortina had the better nerves and captured two points.

The HC Pustertal celebrated a big win against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Right from the beginning the vice champ controlled the game. Six goals were scored in the first two periods, all of them of the wolves. In the third period the Broncos scored their first goal before Pustertal continued in scoring. Pustertal won 8:1 and captured the second place in standings.

The second Slovenian team confirmed their role as favorites and controlled the game against Bregenzerwald. Jesenice built the basis for the success already in the first periode creating a 2:0 lead. Bregenzerwald narrowed the gap in the second period, before Jesenice took full control and created 5:3 win.

The EK Zeller Eisbären booked a clear win in the Austrian clash against Kitzbühel. Two early goals for the Eisbären already paved the way. The Eisbären acted much more efficiently, creating a 5:0 lead til the second period. Kitzbühel couldn’t keep the pace of the Eisbären and had to take 0:6 defeat.

In the second Austrian Clash the EHC Lustenau booked a win against the EC-KAC II and is still undefeated against the Carinthians. The EHC created a 3:0 lead in the first two periods. The KAC II narrowed the gap early in the final period, but Lustenau had the answer right away and celebrated a 4:1 win.

The Rittner Buam booked a 4:1 win against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Both teams focused on defense in the first period with no goals. In the second period Ritten opened the scoring and created a 2:0 lead before the Juniors narrowed the gap. The Buam kept their nerves and booked the win.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey recaptured the top position after celebrating a 3:0 win against the Steel Wings Linz.
