The Italians earned a 3-2 home win after penalty shootout in their second duel of the season with the Viennese, for whom Yannic Pilloni and Bernhard Posch returned to the lineup. After the first period, Asiago, which was dangerous mostly from counterattacks, trailed 0-1, as Mario Fischer scored with a wrist shot into the far cross corner. At the beginning of the second period, the guests failed to double up, as Jeremy Gregoire could not convert his penalty. Nevertheless, the Viennese had the better of the play, but always failed to score against the strong-playing Asiago goalkeeper Justin Fazio (35 saves), who kept the "Stellati" in the game and gave the necessary support.

In the third period - the Caps still had more of the game - Asiago suddenly struck and turned the game within 46 seconds: First, Nick Saracino (51.) scored after give-and-go with Anthony Salinitri, who later provided Asiago’s second - shortly after Pilloni, driving alone towards Fazio, failed. Vienna, however, still saved itself into overtime, Max Zimmer (58.) used a stubborn offensive sequence to equalize. Then it remained scoreless, also in overtime and the shootout was decided by Allan McShane for the home team. Asiago thus celebrated its second home win in a row.
