Almost 900 spectators came to the Vorarlberghalle - and they saw a perfect start for the guests from Italy: Gabriele Parini, who is only 18 years old, scored the first goal for Asiago already in the fourth minute. In the further course, the home team initially had the better opportunities, but missed two powerplays in the first period. In the 35th minute Michele Marchetti increased the lead for past season's runners-up, which also benefited from the strong performance of goalkeeper Gianluca Vallini. However, Vallini had concede one goal when Anton Trastasenkovs scored his second goal of the season to tied the game four minutes left. VEU tried to take the momentum, before Anthony Slinitri pinned down the road win for Asiago.
