More than 1000 spectators watched the final opener in the Alps Hockey League between Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, which had a full line up availabel, and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, with Planko and Rajsa missing for the Slovenians. The intensity was high from the beginning, with chances on both sides in the opening frame, but both Gianluca Vallini and Oscar Froberg did not concede a goal in the first 20 minutes.

Asiago survived two shorthanded situations in the first period, but in the third box play - Daniel Mantenuto was penalized for tripping - it fell behind, as Jasa Jenko (30./PP1) gave Jesenice the lead on power play. But the Italians remained unimpressed and turned the game around in the second period with two quick goals, as MVP Anthony Salinitri (37.) and a Lorenzo Casetti shot (38th) deflected by a Slovenian scored two goals within 65 seconds. Early in the final period, Asiago, which acted very disciplined, added a goal by Jose Magnabosco (44.) for the preliminary decision. Cameron Ginnetti scored the final goal on empty net.
