Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won the match for third place in the Summer Classic against hosts Bolzano im Shootout. After their semi-final defeat against HK Spisska Nova Ves, the South Tyroleans thus remained without a win in their own tournament. The Foxes were already leading 3:1 in the match for third place before Asiago ignited the turbo and shot themselves into overtime. After a goalless overtime, Asiago won the match in a shootout.

EC Red Bull Salzburg had to settle for second place at the Warrior Cup in Kaufbeuren. In the final against Jokerit Helsinki (FIN), the Bulls fell behind in the second period and were ultimately beaten 5-0. For Salzburg, this was the last test game before the new Champions Hockey League season, which they will open with a home game against Skelleftea AIK next week.

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz suffered a similar fate to Salzburg in their test game at DEL2 champions Regensburg. The Upper Austrians' winning streak in the preseason was snapped with a clear 0:5 defeat. Head Coach Philipp Lukas also made changes to his line-up in the fifth test game of the current preparation. In particular, the Austrian head coach opted for a home-grown talent in goal: 19-year-old Martin Reder made his very first appearance for the team

EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, on the other hand, had no problems against the Croatian Alps Hockey League team KHL Sisak. After an evenly balanced first period, Villach stepped on the gas and eventually won 7:3. Benjamin Lanzinger, Philipp Lindner and Kevin Hancock each scored a brace - Alexander Rauchenwald scored Villach's seventh goal.
