The first season of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League starts Friday, September 25th. Both tv partners will cover the opening gameday live: While Puls 24 shows past season’s quarterfinal duel EC-KAC vs. Black Wings 1992 (7.30 pm), Sky Sport Austria broadcasts another postseason paring of 2020 as EC Red Bull Salzburg hosts EC VSV (7.15 pm). With iClinic Bratislava Capitals playing HCB Südtirol Alperia at home, the season kicks off at 6.30 pm. Further, the Dornbirn Bulldogs take on HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” on the road and the Moser Medical Graz99ers play Hydro Fehérvár AV19 (both games 7.15 pm).

New broadcasting time on Sunday
Puls 24 is the host broadcaster of the multinational league in the upcoming season, showing up to 45 games live and exclusively on free TV and online. The main broadcast date during the regular season remains Sunday, but the live games will start already at 4.30 pm. On Sunday, September 27th, Puls 24 covers league newcomer iClinic Bratislava Capitals vs. spusu Vienna Capitals in the Ondrej Nepela Arena, ICE’ largest stadium.

Ten home and road games each in the first round robin
The first round robin of the upcoming regular season phase one in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League gives each team ten home and ten road games, meeting every opponent twice. Because of logistic and infrastructural reasons road trips are set for the new season too. Like in the past two seasons, derbies and regular pairings are scheduled during Christmas and new year.

Points allocation in the intermediate round
After the last round of the regular season phase one is played on February 7th, the top-5 teams qualify for the playoffs and will compete in the following pick round (round robin) for the pick right and home advantage during the post season. With 4-2-1-0-0 the bonus points will be given in a descending order.

The teams placed six to eleven are seeded in the qualification round, where they fight for the last three remaining tickets for the playoffs. The bonus points 8-6-4-2-1-0 will be as well given in a descending order.

The ranking after 44 rounds will be again the tie breaker if two or more teams are tied after the pick or qualification round. The schedule for the intermediate round and the playoffs will be announced at the season kick-off press conference.

Prevention concepts
At present, extensive prevention concepts of the participating clubs for the realization of home games, based on the return-to-play program, are in detailed elaboration with the regional authorities.
