Steinbach Black Wings Linz celebrated their second full success in their fourth win2day ICE Hockey League game of the season. After their opening win against Villach, the Upper Austrians first suffered two defeats before - 24 hours after their game in Bolzano - they were able to record a 5:2 victory over HC Pustertal. The team of head coach Philipp Lukas started the game rapidly: After only 63 seconds Emilio Romig conquered the Pustertal lead. But the hosts had the right answer and equalized in the fourth minute. Brian Lebler, gave Linz the lead again before the first break. The Upper Austrians ensured the preliminary decision in a strong phase in the middle third. Within four minutes the Black Wings scored three times - twice in powerplay. Marc-Olivier Roy scored his second goal of the evening in the final period to reduce the deficit to 2:5, but it was not enough for a turnaround. The Steinbach Black Wings Linz climbed to fourth place in the standings after their second win of the season.

VSV celebrates second win of the season

The iDM Wärmepumpen Villach - after their first win of the season on Thursday against the Pioneers - could add another success. In doing so, Migross Supermercati Asiago started the game more successfully on Saturday. The Yellow-Red took the lead in the first period with a goal from Nicholas Saracino in the 12th minute. At the start of the second period, the ICE newcomer added another, but this time the Eagles responded promptly: first Marco Richter managed to connect, before a double strike by Robert Sabolic and Philipp Lindner gave VSV the lead. Saracino equalized again in the same period with his second goal. In the final period, the guests from Villach pressed for the lead, but Asiago survived a three-on-five shorthanded situation. When the fans in Asiago were already expecting an overtime, Villach finally found redemption through Philipp Lindner just two minutes before the end - Lindner scored for the second time this evening. Alexander Rauchenwald made the final score 5:3 a few seconds later. After the first two wins this season, the Eagles climbed to fifth place in the table.
