After the departure of Michael Haga, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz announced the signing of Sean Collins on Wednesday. The 34-year-old Canadian led EHC Olten (SUI) to the Finals last season.
Prior to that, the former Columbus Blue Jackets draft pick took the ice a total of 21 times in the NHL until 2016.

Collins then moved to the KHL and took the newly-formed Kunlun Red Stars to the playoffs at the first attempt. In a total of five years in the Russian-based league, Collins played a combined 269 games for Kunlun and Sotchi, scoring 125 points (51 goals). After that, Collins moved on to the Adler Mannheim in the DEL and to Hämeenlinnan PK in the highest Finnish league.

After playing in Switzerland's second-highest division last season, Sean Collins is now moving to Linz for the 2023/24 season. In Linz, Collins will wear the number 81. The one-year contract includes an option to extend the cooperation.

Sean Collins: "I already had good talks with Philipp Lukas and Rick Nasheim last year and I was very impressed by the vision they have for the club. Then last season showed how successful the organization is growing again. When the offer came again to come to Linz, it was a very easy decision for me to accept it."

Asiago extends with three players
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey extended the contract with three young players. So both Filippo Rigoni (no relation) and Samuele Zampieri will continue to play for the Italians next season. All three players were born in 2003 and are currently not even 20 years old.
