Bolzano regain the lead in the standings
After more than a month of injury, Bolzano goalie Leland Irving made his comeback in Klagenfurt. Karl Stollery also made his debut for the South Tyroleans, who got off to the better start. On the HCB powerplay, Klagenfurt's netminder David Madlener, who got the nod over Dahm, let bounce and Dan Catenacci opened the scoring with his 13th goal of the season. Only 19 seconds later Daniel Frank was in the right place to increase the lead to 0:2. Dennis Sticha (11th) put the KAC on the scoreboard with a well-placed shot, but Bolzano restored the two-goal advantage before the end of the period through Dustin Gazley. After the restart, the guests acted too passively and were promptly punished when Johannes Bischofberger (26th) deflected decisively - 2:3. The exciting exchange continued, but no more goals would be scored. The Bolzano team took revenge for the narrow 2:3 overtime defeat in the first duel of the season and regained the lead in the standings.

Vienna also wins third duel with Salzburg
EC Red Bull Salzburg dominated the action for long stretches in the opening third, but mostly failed to score against Caps goalie Bernhard Starkbaum. Contrary to the course of the game, Vienna's Taylor Vause scored a shorthander to give the visitors the lead (12th). But Salzburg - the best power play in the league - struck back with a man advantage and Florian Baltram made it 1-1. The Capitals found their way into the game better and better in the middle period and took the lead again through Jerome Leduc (33rd). The Red Bulls did not respond this time. Derek Joslin was unlucky in the 52nd minute when his shot touched the crossbar. A few minutes later, Sascha Bauer scored on a counterattack for the preliminary decision. Salzburg tried it with six skater just under three minutes before the end, but then also had to accept Julian Großlercher's empty-net goal for the final score of 1:4. The Viennese, who moved up to third place in the table, thus also won their third duel of the season with Salzburg.

Bratislava manages a preliminary season sweep against Linz
The iClinic Bratislava Capitals gave up their home right in the duel against the Steinbach Black Wings 1992 for organisational reasons, so the game was played in Linz. In the fourth duel of the season between these two teams, the opening period ended goalless for the first time, with both Jared Coreau and David Kickert keeping clean sheets. It took almost 31 minutes for the first goal when Ladislav Romančík slammed the puck into the far corner. The league newcomers went into the second intermission with a 1:0 lead. The game then headed towards a turbulent finish. First David Buc increased the lead for the Capitals, but five minutes before the end Andrew Kozek got Linz on the scoreboard. When Brock Higgs made it 3:1, the decision was still not made, because Brian Lebler shortened the score again. But the Slovaks managed to hold on for the 3:2 and thus celebrated the preliminary season sweep over Linz. While Bratislava returned to winning ways after three defeats, the Black Wings had to admit defeat again.
