The HCB Südtirol Alperia can look back on a very successful 2020/21 season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. The team from Bolzano won the first part of the regular season as well as the Pick Round and only had to admit defeat to EC-KAC in five games in the final. The preparations for the new season are in full swing on and off the ice. A number of transfers have been announced in the last few weeks. The squad currently comprises 17 players, many of whom already played for the Foxes in the successful last campaign.

On Monday, the team took to the ice in the Palaonda for the first time. Among them were eight players from the first team - some players are already preparing for the Olympic qualification with the Italian national team - and some talents from the hockey academy. Nick Plastino, Brett Findlay and Mike Halmo will arrive in Bolzano in the next few days.

Anton Bernard will continue to lead the HCB team in the 2021/22 season.

In the preseason, the two-time league champions will take part in a tournament in Merano on 21 and 22 August, among other things. In their opening game, the Foxes will play against the host. The next day, another duel against a team from the Alps Hockey League awaits them - either against the Rittner Buam or the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan.

Already at the beginning of September, they will play their first competitive games of the new season in the Champions Hockey League. On 3 September, the South Tyroleans will visit Polish champion JKH GKS Jastrzebie, followed two days later by an away game against Norwegian regular-season winner Frisk Asker. In Group H, there will also be an internal ICE duel with EC Red Bull Salzburg in October.
