Bolzano secures first place I three teams fight for last playoff spot

HC Bolzano takes the top seed into playoffs 2020 as the foxes beat Klagenfurt on Thursday night. While Vienna secured home advantage for quarters, the race for the remaining playoff spot remains thrilling with three teams having the chance to grab it on last game day.

Bolzano and Vienna turn games around
Bolzano became the first team in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga history to start Pick Round last and end it first. After a 2:1 win in Klagenfurt, the foxes are top seed for playoffs. At the home debut of goalie Jhonas Enroth, KAC took a late first-period lead. After scoring the equalizer in the second, it was Dennis Robertson who scored the game winner in the third. In the second Pick Round game spusu Vienna Capitals came back several times to beat Moser Medical Graz99ers 5:4 abroad. The Caps were one down at the end of the first and second but Vause and Baun turned it to their favour. With this win the Viennese secured home advantage in quarters, Graz will start postseason on the road. 



Three teams for for last playoff spot

In Qualfication Round the top teams Znojmo and Innsbruck both suffered defeats. Innsbruck let an early 2:0 lead against Linz slip away as Hunter Fejes got the Black Wings back with two goals. In overtime Rick Schofield found the back of the net on power play. Innsbruck is level on points with third-placed Znojmo as the Czech side suffered a 4:0 defeat in Hungary. Hydro Fehervar AV19 was in control of the game and kept their playoff hopes alive with Csanad Erdely scoring a brace. In addition, Dornbirn Bulldogs got a 4:0 shutout win against Villach in their last home game of the season.
