Bolzano wins first South Tyrol ICE derby

HCB Südtirol Alperia won the first South Tyrolean derby of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League 2-1 and extended HC Pustertal’s losing streak. HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie claimed victory in the West derby. The top duo HK SZ Olimpija and Hydro Fehérvár AV19 both won road games, while HC TESLA Orli Znojmo and iClinic Bratislava Capitals put an end to the positive series of Salzburg and Klagenfurt on home ice. The spusu Vienna Capitals won in Linz after a shootout.

Tuesday marked the first South Tyrolean derby in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. HCB Südtirol Alperia prevailed 2-1 in the 183rd meeting with HC Pustertal Wölfe. In a fast-paced encounter, James Dehaas (14.) and Keegan Lowe (52.) provided the goals for the victorious guests. The intermediate equalizer was scored by former Bolzano plaser Anthony Bardaro (27./PP1). The "Foxes" extended the losing streak of the ICE newcomer, which has now been waiting for a success for seven games and sits at the bottom of the table.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie also celebrated a derby victory. In the west derby, the "sharks" made up a 0-2 deficit against the Dornbirn Bulldogs after 22 minutes - and turned it into a 6:3 home victory with a brilliant five-goal final frame. Lukas Bär scored a brace in Innsbruck's fourth straight win. With their ninth win of the season, the Tyroleans moved up to third place in standings.

Leader Ljubljana cruised past Graz
HK SZ Olimpija also claimed its fourth win in a row. The bet-at-home ICE Hockey League leaders prevailed 6-3 at Moser Medical Graz99ers. A strong start with three goals in the first period paved the once again efficient "Dragons" their eleventh win of the season. Six different players scored for the Slovenians. The league's strongest offensive team has a five-point lead in standings over Hydro Fehérvár AV19, which remain second, winning after 3-2 after OT at Villach. The Hungarians let an early lead slip away at EC GRAND Immo VSV, to pick it up in the finish: Alex Petan's sixth goal of the season with 97 seconds left sent the game into overtime - and there Andrew Sarauer netted the game-winner after 59 seconds.

Salzburg's and Klagenfurt's "point streak" ended
HC TESLA Orli Znojmo has stopped EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Czechs prevailed at home with 3-1 and celebrated already their fifth home win in this season. The Austrians had to admit defeat again after regulation after last six games with point wins, lost for the second time in a row away from home. The decisive game-winner was scored by Znojmo's top scorer Anthony Luciani on a one-on-one situation.

EC-KAC's winning streak of seven consecutive games with point victories also came to an end on Tuesday. The iClinic Bratislava Capitals prevailed 6-2 at home against the "Rotjacken". The eleventh-ranked spusu Vienna Capitals have secured points for the fifth time in a row. After ups and downs, the two-time champions prevailed 5-4 at Steinbach Black Wings Linz after shootout. First, the guests from the Austrian capital gave away a two-goal lead in the middle period before Matt Prapavessis equalized with 111 seconds left. In the penalty shootout, Nicolai Meyer got the extra point for Vienna.
