  • EC Red Bull Salzburg registered their first tally of the series on Saturday, fending off the first of four match pucks from EC-KAC.
  • Salzburg have won at least two games in each of their 36 playoff series so far.
  • Only once has a team managed to advance to the next round after trailing 0:3: in 2010, the Linz team achieved this feat against Vienna.
  • RBS goalie Jesper Eliasson got the nod from the start over J.P. Lamoureux for the first time in the playoffs on Saturday.
  • The EC-KAC had to end its impressive playoff streak of six wins on Saturday, and the Klafengurt team even posted a stretch of eleven victories in the semifinals on a cross-season basis before Saturday's defeat.
  • The Klagenfurter were already in eleven "best-of-seven" series with 3:1 ahead and could decide these all for themselves. The last ten of them even promptly in game 5.
  • Nick Petersen is not only the most successful scorer in the playoffs so far this season (6 G, 8 A.), but also equaled the season's best of 64 points by Dragan Umicevic (BWI) on Saturday.
  • Blaž Gregorc recorded three points, including two goals, in a narrow 4-3 loss at Salzburg on Saturday night. The last three-point game by a KAC defenseman in the playoffs was more than five years ago (Jason DeSantis on March 6, 2016, also away at Volksgarten).
  • The Klagenfurt team operated on a shorthanded basis for 11:52 minutes on Saturday. This season, the KAC have only had to go to the penalty kill for longer one time: on September 27, 2020 away against Dornbirner EC

Mon. 05.04.2021 HCB Südtriol Alperia- spusu Vienna Capitals, 7:30 p.m.
Referees: PIRAGIC, STERNAT, Durmis, Nothegger. | LIVE on SKY Sport Austria

  • The spusu Vienna Capitals evened the series for the second time on Saturday in their home arena.
  • In all four games of this series so far the home team prevailed.
  • On Easter Monday, it's all about the first match puck for the final in Bolzano.
  • Jerome Leduc would have actually missed the Vienna Capitals in the fourth game of the playoff semifinal series because of the birth of his child. But the defenseman arrived at the rink immediately from the hospital and was promptly on the ice for his team's first goal.
  • Ty Loney is the most successful goal scorer in the ICE playoffs. In just eight games, the Caps' crack scored seven goals. With his 34th goal of the season on Saturday, the U.S. native surpassed Brian Lebler (BWI) in the scoring charts this season.
  • HCB Südtirol Alperia was only defeated in its very first ICE playoffs home game. All other four home games in the postseason were won by the South Tyroleans.
  • Bernhard Starkbaum presented himself in top form again on Saturday. He defused 96.6% of Bozen's shots. With a save percentage of 93.5%, the Caps goalie is the most successful goalie in the postseason of the four teams still remaining in the competition.
  • But also Leland Irving and his team hardly allow anything especially in home games. The South Tyrolean defense has conceded just 1.8 goals on average in playoff home games so far this season.
