Bratislava, Bolzano, Aisulu and Sabres St. Pölten advance to the EWHL semi-finals

The quarter-final second legs of the European Women's Hockey League took place on Sunday. While the three top-seeded teams HK PSRZ Bratislava, Aisulu Almaty and EVB Eagles South Tyrol advanced to the semi-finals, Sabres St. Pölten also made it through to the next round.

In addition, the Villach Lady Hawks celebrated a sense of achievement in Salzburg in the final game of the win2day Austrian Women's Hockey League Qualification Round.

After winning the first leg 5:1, HK PSRZ Bratislava also won the second game against Budapest Jegkorong Akademia. The superior Slovakians prevailed 7:5 at home on Sunday, with seven players on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Aisulu Almaty also lived up to their role as favourites against Tauron Metropolia Silesia with a total score of 8:2. In the second game, the Kazakh team came out on top 3:1, with Lauren Nicholson recording two goals and an assist.

The match between the EVB Eagles South Tyrol and the KSV Highlanders was hard to beat in terms of excitement. After the Styrians won the first encounter 4:3, Bolzano won the second game by the same score. It went into overtime, in which Justine Reyes scored her third goal of the game to decide it.

The fifth seed Sabres St. Pölten decided the series against MAC Budapest (#4) in their favour. After their home win on Friday, the Lower Austrians also won in Hungary. Emma McKnight scored a brace in the 4:3 victory on Sunday.

The Qualification Round of the win2day Austrian Women's Hockey League was concluded on Sunday. The Villach Lady Hawks won 4:3 at the DEC Salzburg Eagles, with Julija Blazinsek and Liga Miljone each scoring a brace. It was the first win for the Carinthian team, both sides had no chance of reaching the Final 4 even before the game.
