Innsbruck took the lead for the first time in their third game of the season when Joel Messner fired home a rebound on power play after six minutes. Although the Slovaks also created chances, the score remained 1:0 until the first period. After the restart, the visitors increased the pressure and finally it was David Bondra who equalised in the 31st minute. With another shot into the short corner, Martin Chovan (36th) even turned the game around. The Innsbruck team, with Benjamin Betker receiving a game misconduct in the first period and Alex Dostie later leaving early due to an injury, never recovered from this deficit. In the third period, Hudec (47th) and Olsen (49th) provided the decision within two minutes. Jardine scored the final goal to make it 1:5. The Slovakians won their fourth game in Tyrol since joining the league and are now third in the standings.
