EC Bregenzerwald - EK Die Zeller Eisbären
Following their 3-1 defeat in the opening match, EC Bregenzerwald were also narrowly beaten 3-2 at home by the Master Round champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären on Tuesday. It was Zell am See's seventh win in a row against the team from Vorarlberg. The omens for an away win for Bregenzerwald on Thursday are not good, as they have only won one of their last twelve away games. Zell am See, on the other hand, have won eight of their last ten home games.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps - HC Meran/o Pircher
The defending champions Rittner Buam SkyAlps fought their way to a 4:3 away win at HC Meran/o Pircher on Tuesday. The player of the game was Ethan Szypula, who scored a hat-trick. The league's top scorer has already scored 91 points. Should he collect nine more points in the current playoffs, he would be the first player in league history to reach 100 points in a season. In game one, which Ritten won 3-0, the 28-year-old failed to score. For Merano, the opening defeat at Ritten was their first away defeat after four wins in a row. Ritten have won ten of their last twelve games in front of their home crowd.

Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel are already under considerable pressure against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The third-placed team in the Master Round conceded two narrow defeats (4:5, 1:2). In the second game, Broncos goalkeeper Dominik Groh shone with 54 saves - read more here. Kitzbühel won all three encounters against Sterzing in the Regular Season. The South Tyroleans are currently in very good form away from home, with four wins in a row, while Kitzbühel have only won two of their last five home games.

SIJ Acroni Jesenice - S.G. Cortina Hafro
The finalists of the past two seasons, S.G. Cortina Hafro, were also unable to win either of their first two games against the 2023 AHL champions SIJ Acroni Jesenice. After losing game one in Slovenia 2-1 in overtime, the team suffered a 4-1 defeat at home. Overall, Cortina have only won two of their last ten games, and have won one of their last five games away from home. Jesenice have won three of their last five home games.
