Bregenzerwald vs. Lustenau in the direct duel for second place

The last week in the intermediate round of the Alps Hockey League will start tomorrow, Wednesday, with the match between the EC Bregenzerwald and the EHC Lustenau. Both teams are already qualified for the Pre-Playoff. Nevertheless, there is a lot at stake in the Vorarlberg derby. As second in the table, Lustenau is only two points ahead of Bregenzerwald two matchdays before the end of Qualification Round B. Already on Saturday both teams will meet again.

In the Qualification Round, both the EC Bregenzerwald and the EHC Lustenau are in very good shape. Both teams lost only once in six games and are therefore are already qualified for the Pre-Playoffs. On Thursday, it comes to the first direct encounter in the intermediate round. The second leg will take place on Saturday, February 25th in Lustenau. In Regular Season Phase 1, the EHC prevailed in both duels (4:2 & 6:0).

Currently, Lustenau is in second place with 15 points and would meet the second-placed team from Qualification Round A in the pre-playoffs. At the moment that is Sterzing. Bregenzerwald follows two points behind in third place and would face Zell am See in the pre-playoffs. The team from Pinzgau leads Qualification Round A.
