The EC Bregenzerwald beat the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 2:0 in the only game on Wednesday, celebrating their second win in a row. For the Broncos, on the other hand, it was their fourth defeat in a row. With ten points, the South Tyroleans are in fourth place, but have the same number of points as second-placed Cortina. Bregenzerwald is still in sixth place.

In a game with few goals, it took until the 27th minute before EC Bregenzerwald top scorer Roberts Lipsbergs put the home side ahead in the power play. Daniil Kulintsev increased the lead to 2:0 in the powerplay again in the 38th minute, this time with Lipsbergs providing the assist, while Kulintsev gave the primary assist on the 1:0. No further goals were scored after that, with ECB goalkeeper Alexander Schmidt celebrating his third shutout of the season. The 23-year-old saved a total of 40 shots on his goal. It was the second win for Bregenzerwald in the fourth duel of the season. The Alps Hockey League continues with six games tomorrow, Thursday.
