With six games another week in the Alps Hockey League starts on Thursday. Among others, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have the chance to go top of the standings with a win against the SHC Fassa Falcons. Last year's finalist HC Pustertal Wölfe is clear favorite at the Steel Wings Linz and could go top of the standings as well, if they win against Linz and the Broncos lose or win after extra time or shootout. S.G. Cortina Hafro wants to win for the first time in four games against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. In addition, the EC KAC II will faces the Vienna Capitals Silver, the EC "Die Adler" Stadtwerke Kitzbühel meets HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it plays against the EC Bregenzerwald.

On Thursday the first meeting between the Steel Wings Linz and the HC Pustertal Wölfe takes place in the Alps Hockey League history. While the hosts from Linz continue to wait for their first vicory after regular time, Pustertal has won four games in a row recently. The last year's finalist is thus also in the table already ranked fourth. The Steel Wings Linz are currently at the bottom of the table with two points. When the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and S.G. Cortina Hafro meet, then it were the Bulls which have won in the recent past. From the last four games Cortina could win none against Salzburg. But this time the starting situation is different. Cortina is currently ranked fifth in the table and thus classified eight positions better than Salzburg. The guests did not concede a defeat this season after regular time. RBJ could win the only game this season in front of their home crowd.

They lost all of their last six games. The Capitals Silver are still struggling in their first season in the AHL. From the first six games they have won one game. This means tabular the 15th place for the Carinthian, for Vienna the 17th place. One of the big problems of the Viennese is the powerplay. With only one power play goal they are at the bottom of the ranking with a success rate of 3.6%.

The EC "Die Adler" Stadtwerke Kitzbühel faces the HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Thursday. Jesenice is ranked 11th in the league table, Kitzbühel is ranked 12th. Thanks to a 7:2 home victory over the Steel Wings Linz, Bregenzerwald celebrated their first win of the season after regular time last weekend. Val Gardena last lost 2:5 at Cortina. It was the first defeat after two victories for the South Tyroleans. In the league table they are in ninth place. Bregenzerwald is currently in 16th place. In the H2H in the AHL Gherdeina is predominant. Bregenzerwald was only able to celebrate two victories, most recently a little more than two years ago, on 14.10.2017.
