Alps Hockey League, Finals game #4 (best of seven):
Mon, 15.04.2019: HK SZ Olimpija vs. HC Pustertal Wolves 3:4/OT (1:0,2:1,0:2,0:1)
best of seven series: 1:3
Referees: FICHTNER, MORI, Bedynek, Snoj; spectators: 2.641
The two teams had an offensive game in period 1 with good chances on each side. The break-through has finally come in minute 17: Aljaz Chvatal has earned the puck behind the net, passed to Nik Simsic, who waited infront of the net and outplayed goalie Colin Furlong for the lead. Period 2 started perfect for the Slovenes too: Captain Ales Music finished a diagonal pass by Zan Jezovsek after a fast attack for the 2:0 after just 100 seconds. Bruneck's Head Coach Petr Mattila took a Time Out, but the dragons controlled the game in the next minutes. The guests found the net in minute 36: Markus Gander finished a 2-on-0-counter in a shorthanded situation after a long pass from Armin Helfer. The Italians got an extra boost now, but took a penalty then and this was punished by the Slovenes. The green dragons were applying pressure on their opponent in the following Power Play and were rewarded with the 3:1 in minute 40. Music scored from close range in the final second – 3:1 (40.). But, Bruneck showed character in the last 20 minutes and was rewarded for their pressure. Armin Helfer with a shot from the circle (50.) and Teemu Virtala, who has finished a fast attack, brought the game to Overtime. There, the Italians had the better end as well. Tommaso Traversa was not to stop by the Dragons defense and scored the Game Winner after less than two minutes to give the Wolves a 3:1-series-lead. Finals game #5 will follow in Bruneck on Wednesday.
