In the past season, the 28-year-old made his European debut, playing 22 games for the French champions Dragons de Rouen. He contributed seven goals and 14 assists. He signed his first professional contract at the start of the 2013/14 season when he joined the Adirondack Phantoms in the AHL. He then made the Phantoms' move to Allentown and was part of the Philadelphia Flyers farm team until 2018. He followed that up with two more AHL seasons in Laval, playing a total of 247 games in North America's second-best league (11G|40A).

"Max is a solid 2-way defender who mainly had a defensive role over in the AHL. However, he also has offensive skills that will help us," said BWI Head Coach Dan Ceman.
