Dornbirn got off a great start with Stefan Häußle opening the scoring after three minutes on a rebound. Soon after the guests took over command and halfway through the first Kyle Baun tied it after a nice Loney pass. The Capitals even turned the game to their favour when Dario Winkler deflected a Subban pass into his own net. It was a back and forth game in the middle frame with Vienna's Sondre Olden scoring the lone goal. The Viennese controlled it in the third but missed the preliminary decision when David Åslin only hit the post. In a final push Häußle made it a one-goal game with his second of the night. The Bulldogs pulled their goalie almost two minutes before the end while playing shorthanded. Finally, it was Ali Wukowits who made the game safe for the Capitals. With their 8th successive win against Dornbirn, the Caps also made the regular season sweep.
