On Sunday spusu Vienna Capitals extended their winning streak as well as the top of the league. While new 2nd-placed team HC Bolzano, Moser Medical Graz99 and HC Orli Znojmo earned road wins, Dornbirn Bulldogs was the only successful home side.

On Sunday spusu Vienna Capitals earned their sixth successive win, beating EC-KAC 2:1 on the road. Halfway through the first the hosts took the lead with a goal from Robin Gartner but joy was short-lived as Andreas Nödl tied it just one minute later. After a goalless second, Caps forward Emilio Romig came close to score but Lars Haugen made a big save. Just a few moments later Marc-Andre Dorion took advantage of a defensive mistake for a Caps lead. After a long injury lay-off, the defender scored the game winner.

Bolzano returned to second place thanks to a clear-cut away win in Zagreb. The game was a mere 23 seconds old when Riley Brace opened the scoring. Despite having some more chances, the champions could not extend their lead. In the middle frame Zagreb even tied it with a power play goal but Matt MacKenzie immeditaley restored the lead. Bolzano made the game safe in the third with scoring five more goals.

On Sunday Dornbirn Bulldogs also won their third game in the special christmas jerseys. The hosts got off a great start with Stefan Häußle opening the scoring after only two minutes. Late in the first Felix Maxa tied it but the only second-period goal by Brodie Reid restored Dornbirn's lead. Brodie Dupont rounded off the scoring for Dornbirn's fourth successive win against Villach.

The fans in Linz saw a couple of goals with Graz taking a shootout win. The Styrians took the lead twice but the Upper Austrians always had an answer. Brian Lebler's second of the night gave Linz the first lead and Corey Locke even doubled it with a power play marker. The 99ers forced overtime thanks to goals from Colton Yellow Horn and Ty Loney. Thomas Höneckl replaced injured Robin Rahm for the extra session and became the hero in the shootout as he saved all four attempt. Curtis Hamilton got the bonus point for Graz.

After suffering defeats in their last six games at Volksgarten, HC Orli Znojmo broke the spell on Sunday. The Czechs scored the only goal in the first and Stretch even doubled the lead in the second. Just a few seconds later Ryan Duncan got Salzburg on the scoreboard but Znojmo still played a solid road game. At the halfway point of the game Allan McPherson restored the two-goal lead and in the third he added a second for a 1:4 score. Brant Harris pulled on back on power play but it was not enough this evening.
