Capitals take lead in final series

On Sunday spusu Vienna Capitals took the series lead in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga finals. The Viennese beat EC-KAC 3:2 after overtime with Sondre Olden scoring the game winner in the 66th minute.

Despite playing on Friday against Salzburg, the hosts did not look tired and controlled the play early in the game. Sondre Olden missed the first chance but halfway through the opening period Taylor Vause made the breakthrough with the backhand. Just three minutes later Chris DeSousa added a second and after video review the home team had a 2:0 lead. Things changed in the middle frame when Klagenfurt became better and Andrew Kozek (23') got the guests on the scoreboard with a PP marker. The goalies made a great job for the remainder of the period and kept it a one-goal game until the seond intermission. With the only third-period goal Nick Petersen sent the game into overtime. In the extra session Petersen missed a breakaway and soon later Olden decided it at the other end for a 1:0 Capitals lead in the final series.
