The 23-year-old center Alexander Maxa, like Posch, Pallierer and the Widhalm twins, passed through the junior department of the spusu Vienna Capitals. The left-shooter took his first steps in the win2day ICE Hockey League in the preseason. Maxa came to 21 appearances in the regular season, in the playoffs added six more games, including the victory in the seventh quarterfinal game against the KAC. In the 2020/21 season, the attacker was loaned to EC Bregenzerwald in the Alps Hockey League.

Defenseman Bernhard Posch also played his first games at the highest level in Austria last season. The 21-year-old made two appearances in the basic round and one game in the playoffs. Like Maxa, Posch, a left-shooter, was loaned to EC Bregenzerwald for the 2020/21 season. In December 2020, the defenseman played in all four of Austria's group games at the U20 World Championship in Canada.

The 21-year-old Timo Pallierer made his debut in Austria's highest division already in the 2019/20 season. The Viennese, who also played all four games at the U20 World Championship in December 2020, has so far made a total of 21 appearances for Caps in the regular season. In the playoffs of the past season, the defender played his first two games.

Forward Leon Widhalm, on the other hand, only made his debut at the highest level in the last season of the win2day ICE Hockey League. The 19-year-old played one game in the regular season and no less than three appearances in the playoffs.

Twin brother Lorenz Widhalm delivered an excellent display of talent in the playoff semifinals against eventual champions Red Bull Salzburg. In his Caps debut, the goalie filled in flawlessly for the regular duo Starkbaum/Kickert, who were ill with Corona, in game one of the "best-of-seven" series despite the loss.
