HCB Südtirol Alperia suffered a 0:4 loss to Mountfield HK on Sunday at the Sparkasse Arena. For two periods, it was an intense and balanced contest, with the Foxes battling hard defensively and killing off several penalties. The deadlock was only broken in the third, when Mountfield capitalized on the power play and pulled away with four goals.

After four CHL group stage games, Bolzano sits at five points. The international campaign continues in October – with a home game against ERC Ingolstadt (October 8) and a road trip to Luleå (October 14). Before that, the win2day ICE Hockey League season gets underway on Friday, September 12, when the Foxes host EC Red Bull Salzburg in the home opener.

In the final period, the German side added another power play tally to put the game out of reach. Marcel Witting scored late to cut the deficit, but the comeback came too late.
