Claes Endre has been one of the key pillars behind HC Gherdeina’s historic first-ever appearance in the Alps Hockey League semifinals. The Swedish goaltender recorded his second shutout of the postseason in the 5–0 home win over reigning champion EK Zell am See and currently leads all playoff goaltenders with a save percentage of 94.4%.

Endre joined the “Furies” in mid-January, bringing valuable experience from Sweden’s second division, and immediately made a strong impact. The 30-year-old played a crucial role in Gherdeina’s resurgence. After finishing the regular season only in 11th place, head coach Marcel Skokan’s team dominated Qualification Round B, swept Kitzbühel in the Pre-Playoffs, and then stunned the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the quarterfinals. Now, they’re even challenging the defending champions from Zell am See.

With Saturday’s 5–0 victory, Gherdeina tied the series at 1–1. Endre earned his fourth shutout in just 19 games this season, 13 of which he won. His save percentage of 94.4% continues to top the playoff leaderboard, followed by Sisak’s Vilim Rosandić and EKZ’s Alexander Schmidt in second and third place.
