After two defeats without a goal against Hydro Fehérvár AV19, the EC-KAC celebrated a clear 7:3 home win in the third duel of the season. For the Hungarians, who nevertheless remain at the top of the table, it was their first defeat after four wins in a row. Klagenfurt celebrated their third win in a row. Mathias From put the home side ahead in the fifth minute. Daniel Obersteiner increased the lead to 2:0 in the ninth minute and the 26-year-old center also scored to make it 4:0 while shorthanded (27.). The KAC also scored the goals for 3:0 (15.) and 5:0 (38.) in the special team, but this time in the powerplay. The final period began with a 5:0 lead, in which the Hungarians came out of the dressing room stronger and quickly closed the gap to 2:5 thanks to a brace from Chris Brown (44., 45.). The league leader also had several great chances in the following period, but failed to reduce the deficit to 3:5. The game was finally decided when Josh Atkinson was sent to the dressing room just under nine minutes before the end of the period due to a disciplinary penalty. Mathias From scored in the five-minute power play to make it 6:2, the Dane's fourth brace of the season. Both teams got on the scoreboard once more in the final minute and a half of the game.
