Anthony Luciani was in the last season of HC Orli Znojmo in the multinational ICE Hockey League - the leader in the game of the Czechs. Almost one and a half years later, the Eagles are back - together with Luciani, whose "ICE break" was significantly shorter due to his interim commitment to the Bulldogs. Already a few weeks ago, neo-head coach Jiří Beroun asked his team to practice. "After such a long break, the guys already looking forward to the next season. The Cracks worked on their individual skills and on their fitness. Both off and on the ice," Beroun said.

And the first preparatory game for the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League is already just around the corner. Already on Tuesday, Znojmo will host HC Kometa Brno in a charity game - in support for cities that were particularly affected by the tornado. The clash with the representative from the Extraliga will be followed by a duel as guests of SK Horácká Slavia Třebíč (CZE2) on Thursday.

From September 17, the Eagles will then face 13 opponents from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia. Znojmo will kick off the new bet-at-home ICE Hockey League season at Bolzano against HC Orli Znojmo. "We are looking forward to returning to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League and to the attractive and strong international opponents. It will be a great challenge. The last weeks have been varied and it is difficult and still a bit too early to talk about our goals - but we want to be competitive and fight for the best possible ranking. We are building a team we believe in," said head coach Beroun, who knows the multinational league well after six seasons as Znojmo captain, looking forward to the return.

History of HC Orli Znojmo
The club now known as HC Orli Znojmo was founded in 1933 - almost 90 years ago - as TJ Sokol Znojmo and first turned professional in 1990. In 1999, the club was promoted to the Extraliga at the second attempt, in which the "Eagles" reached the semifinals in 2006 as their greatest success. In 2009, the team left the top Czech league and two years later joined the former Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, to which Znojmo belonged for nine seasons. In 2016, after finishing second in the regular season, the Czechs advanced to the final, where they lost 4-2 to champion EC Red Bull Salzburg.
