Cortina extends with three forwards and starts preseason

Hafro Cortina Hockey has extended the contracts with three forwards. The Alps Hockey League runner-up will be the first team to start the preseason on Tuesday. While Bregenzerwald and Meran signed new players, Fassa, Jesenice and Kitzbühel had contract extensions.

Luca Barnabò enters his seventh season with Hafro Cortina Hockey. The forward played in the youth of the club until the under 18 team, then went to Switzerland for a few years. He returned to Cortina in the summer of 2017 and has since played 264 Alps Hockey League games (48G, 51A).

Ronny De Zanna, who has worn the Cortina jersey every season so far, also remains with the AHL runners-up. The 27-year-old recorded 93 points in 251 league games so far. In addition, the club also announced the contract extension with Tommaso Alverà. With the exception of one season in North America, he has always played for Cortina (74 points in 221 AHL games).

Cortina is the first team to start the preseason on Tuesday. The AHL runner-up will face the Oswego State Lakers at home. The university team from the US state of New York is currently on a European trip. On Sunday, they celebrated a clear 5:1 victory at Bellinzona.

Andrey Makarov new Meran/o goalie
The HC Meran/o announced the signing of Andrey Makarov. The 30-year-old goalie spent the last season in the second Russian league. Previously, Makarov was playing for many years in North America and the KHL.

Embrich replaces Lehtonen at Bregenzerwald
With Waltteri Lehtonen leaving the club after two seasons, the EC Bregenzerwald has found a new center: The 26-year-old Erik Embrich comes from Hungarian side Dunaújvárosi. Previously, the dual Finnish/Estonian citizen spent most of his career in the second Finnish league.

Captain Hochfilzer stays with Kitzbühel
The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel has extended the contract of captain Henrik Hochfilzer. The 32-year-old heads into his 13th campaign with the Tyroleans. The winger gained nine goals and 24 assists last season, where the eagles reached their first Alps Hockey League playoffs.

David Planko stays in Jesenice
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice extended the contract with David Planko. The 30-year-old defenseman has already played 261 AHL games (109 points) and won the title three times. It is his fifth season with the defending champions.

Goalie trio of Fassa complete
After two years in North America, Marco Felicetti returns to the Fassa Falcons. The 20-year-old has already played 15 AHL games, he completes the goalie trio of the Italians.
