Ritten conquers matchpuck for semifinal spot

Ritten did it again. Just on Tuesday, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps managed to equalize the series with an overtime win. Just two days later, the South Tyroleans even managed to take the lead in the "best-of-seven" quarterfinals against EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - again with an overtime win. In the fifth quarterfinal match, the Rittner Buam were always ahead in front of their home crowd, but the guests from Kitzbühel managed to equalize twice. In overtime, veteran Julian Kostner provided the decision. It was already his second goal of the evening. Thus, at 3:2 for Ritten, the series goes back to Kitzbühel on Saturday, where the Eagles will play in front of their home crowd against the season's end.

Cortina is third team in semifinals

S.G. Cortina Hafro battled their way to a 4-1 series win over 79 minutes and is now the third semifinalist. EHC Lustenau had the better start, taking the lead in the second minute with a goal from Max Wilfan. In the second period, the Italian champions turned up the heat. Cortina turned the match around with two power play goals. However, EHC Lustenau did not want to end the season yet and fought their way into overtime. There Cortina's playoff top scorer ensured the decision in the 79th minute. For EHC Lustenau, the season ends in the quarterfinals.
