S.G. Cortina Hafro reduced the gap to the top-4 in the Alps Hockey League with a 2-1 home win over Steinbach Steel Wings Linz. The Italians are two points behind Zell am See. The Upper Austrians remain at the bottom of the table after their 14th defeat of the season.

In Sunday’s lone game of the Alps Hockey League, S.G. Cortina Hafro won 2-1 against the Steinbach Steel Wings Linz. Thus, the Italians won also the ninth comparison of these two teams in a row. For Cortina it was the second win in a row in front of their home crowd. The home team took the lead after just 65 seconds through Ronny De Zanna and from then on largely controlled the action. A penalty against the goal scorer at the end of the second period allowed Linz to equalize, Karlis Buceniecks (40./PP1) scored on powerplay. But the home team regained the lead: Francesco Ademi, with the primary assist on the first goal, made it 2-1 (44.) and decided the match. Cortina goalkeeper Marco De Filippo shone with a save percentage of 96.3%.
