The first final rematch between champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and S.G. Cortina developed into a high-scoring game. In the end Cortina won with 6:5. The winning goal by Marco Sanna was scored only 56 seconds before the end of the game. A total of seven games were scheduled in the Alps Hockey League on Thursday. In addition to Cortina, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, EK Die Zeller Eisbären, EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, EHC Lustenau, Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers also won.

S.G. Cortina Hafro won against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with 6:5 in a high-scoring final rematch. For the Slovenians' it was the first loss oft he season. At the same time, the Italians celebrated their first win in the second game. After the first period the guests were leading with 2:1. In the middle period, Cortina finally managed to pull away to 3:2 in the meantime, before Jesenice answered again and even made it 4:3. Another Cortina goal, the second of the evening by Francesco Adami, finally brought the score to 4:4 going into the second break. In the final period, Cortina scored first to make it 5:4. Only short time later Jesenice equalized by the third season goal of the only 17-year-old Zan Spari Leben to make it 5:5. The score remained at this level until 56 seconds before the end of the game, when Marco Sanna scored after an assist from Gregory Di Tomaso to make it 6:5.
Kitzbühel also wins second game
After the clear 10:1 opening victory against Merano, the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel followed up with a 4:2 win at Red Bull Hockey Juniors and thus continues to maintain the lead in the standings. The Eagles initially took the lead with both 1:0 and 2:1. In the 31st minute, the Young Bulls finally managed to equalize again. The score remained 2:2 until four minutes before the end of the game, when Alexander Maxa scored for Kitzbühel to make it 3:2. The final decision was made by Kevin Szabad three seconds before the end of the game. For the Red Bull Hockey Juniors it was the third defeat in the third game.
Also without a win is league newcomer HK RST Pellet Celje, which lost 0:4 at its home debut against the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. For the South Tyroleans it was the second win in the second game. Already in the seventh minute Marco Insam put the Buam in the lead. Player of the match, however, was Max Coatta, who scored twice and recorded an assist. In addition, goalkeeper Colin Furlong managed his first shutout in his second game for Ritten. Against Celje he could save all 33 shots on his goal.
Lustenau turns up the heat in the final third
The EHC Lustenau won 4:1 against the SHC Fassa Falcons. The team from Vorarlberg scored all four goals in the final period. First, the visitors from Italy, who defeated runner-up Cortina in the season opener, took the lead in the 39th minute through Luca Biondi. Shortly after the restart Dominik Oberscheider scored the equalizer for the EHC. In the 51st minute David König finally put Lustenau in the lead. Stefan Hrdina and Max Wilfan provided the remaining two goals. After the narrow 3:4 opening defeat in Zell am See, it was now the first win of the season for the Vorarlberg team.
The EK Die Zeller Eisbären, in turn, also won their second game of the season. However, the team from Salzburg struggled to a 3:2-OT win at the Steel Wings Linz AG. Zell am See already led 2:0 after 25 minutes, but the Steel Wings came back into the game. Eleven minutes before the end of the game William Persson finally scored the equalizer in the powerplay. In the overtime, however, it took only 46 seconds before Tomi Wilenius scored the game-winner.
Clear victories for Broncos and Unterland
Both the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers celebrated the second win in the second game. The Broncos prevailed against the HC Meran/o Pircher with 5:2. For the eagles from Meran it set the next clear defeat after the clear 1:10 opening defeat in Kitzbühel. Against Vipiteno they were already trailing 0:3 after nine minutes. Afterwards Merano found better into the game and scored the 2:3 in the 23rd minute. But still in the second period Vipiteno scored three more goals. The score of 5:2 remained until the end of the game.
The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers celebrated an 8:4 victory at the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. For Val Gardena it was the second defeat in the second game. The home side even took the lead in the 18th minute through Leo Messner. After that, however, only the guests played. Until the 44th minute Unterland pulled away to 6:1. Alex Egger was the only player of the guests to score twice. On the side of the Furie, Leo Messner also scored the second goal. In the following mnutes there were two more goals for each team, so Unterland won 8:4 in the end.
