Cortina with important win in battle for playoff ticket

Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro won by 5:2 against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and made a big step towards the playoff ticket.

The guests started good into the game and Nicola Fontanive took the early lead. The Red Bull Hockey Juniory increased the pressure and Marcus Jörgensen succeeded with the tie in 16th minute. But the answer of the Italians didn’t take long. One minute after the tie Zachary Torquato recaptured the lead again and created the 2:1 in the first break. In a turbulent second period with many penalties Cortina succeeded with the 3:1 – Patrick Rizzo scored the first goal in the second period. Also the Red Bulls had a couple of good chances, but weren’t able to score. In the last period both teams increased the speed of the game. Salzburg put a lot pressure towards Cortina. In the 54th minute Florian Baltram scored after assist of Raphael Wolf for the 2:3.. Only two minutes later Francesco  de Biasio scored the 4:2. In the last minute Tanner Burton created the result with an empty net goal.
