It is hard to imagine the HCB Südtirol Alperia team without Daniel Frank. One of the key players of the Foxes leads his team into the tenth joint season in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The 28-year-old South Tyrolean has already lifted the Karl Nedwed Trophy twice. Frank has been wearing the "C" on the chest in the Italian national team for two years.

With 482 appearances in the ICE and Champions Hockey League, Frank is approaching the ominous 500 mark, which Marco Insam was the last player from Bolzano to reach: "When I look back on 2013, the year I came to Bolzano, I never thought I would make it this far," explains Frank, "even though it was always my goal to stay with the Foxes as long as possible and become a core player. Over the years I've tried to take on more and more responsibility, I've worked hard for that and now it's paying off. However, I am aware that you never stop learning, working hard and I am ready to continue as I have been used to. For sure, there needs to be a restructuring, a bit of a breath of fresh air, in addition to incorporating young hungry players into the team to replace us "senators" in the coming years: it will be our job this year to make up for the absence of Toni Bernard. I am looking forward to working under the leadership of Glen Hanlon, because he is a coach with immense experience and will surely be able to help us. In the new season we need continuity above all, we have to act as a united team on and off the ice."
