Release from 24.02.2020
Following the current incidents concerning the coronavirus, the competent Italian authorities have issued a ban on sporting events for yesterday, 23rd February in the regions of Lombardy and Veneto - with S.G. Cortina Hafro and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey two teams of the Alps Hockey League are affected. Today the authorities of the Veneto regions announced that sporting events can take place to the exclusion of public. Thus, the Tuesday game between S.G. Cortina Hafro and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will be played as scheduled but without spectators. All further games of the round can be played as scheduled and without limitation according to the current status.

In the Master Round of Alps Hockey League there is an immediate chance for revenge in all three matches on Tuesday, as the same duels took place on Saturday as well. HC Pustertal suffered their first defeat in the intermediate round and now want to strike back in their home game against Asiago.
In the qualifcation round there will be five duels that have not been played in the intermediate round this season. Especially the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and VEU Feldkirch want to continue their successful run as they have not given up a single point in the qualifying round.

The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana hosts the Rittner Buam on Tuesday. The reigning champion started from pole position in the Master Round and lost three places in the meantime. The Slovenians won only two of the previous five matches in the intermediate round. The Rittner Buam have the same record in the Pick Round, with Ljubljana winning their last duel two days ago 3-2 in overtime. Ritten has not yet won a game against Ljubljana this season. Currently the advantage of the Buam is one point.

After four wins in the Master Round in a row, HC Pustertal were beaten by Asiago for the first time in the intermediate round two days ago. But the Wolves still led the Master Round and will remain in the lead after this round, as the lead is four points. For Asiago it was already the third win in the Master Round. The gap to the top 4 and the resulting home right in the quarter finals is only one point. For Asiago this was the first AHL victory against Pustertal since March 2018.

The match between S.G. Cortina Hafro and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is expected to be held to the exclusion of public due to the coronavirus incidents. S.G. Cortina Hafro won the last two matches in the Master Round and thus made it into the top 3. Jesenice started successfully in the intermediate round with a derby win, but then had to accept four defeats in a row. In the clash on Saturday, Cortina celebrated a 5:3 success. Especially Kevin King could not be stopped by Jesenice. He made his mark on the game with two goals and two assists.

The Viennese lost their last two games and are currently in fifth place in the Qualification Round A. Vienna and Klagenfurt will meet for the first time in the intermediate round. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors are best placed to head towards the AHL playoffs. The Juniors are still without a point loss in the intermediate round. Their lead over the first chaser is already six points. Lustenau is currently nine points behind the Juniors, so they will need help if they want to reach the playoffs. The two teams face each other for the first time in the Qualification Round. The two season duels so far have each gone to the away team.

The VEU Feldkirch recaptured the lead in the standings on Sunday. With one game less completed, their lead over the first chaser is two points. Kitzbuehel is eight points behind in third place. Feldkirch won the two previous season duels This calendar year, however, they are facing the teams for the first time. Feldkirch has been unbeaten for five games - since the entire intermediate round. But Kitzbühel also seem to be in good shape, having won their last two games.
