Bet-at-home ICE Hockey League | 25.02.2022 | Schedule:
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: Moser Medical Graz99ers – HC TESLA Orli Znojmo
Referees: HRONSKY, PIRAGIC, Durmis, Jedlicka. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The Moser Medical Graz99ers have the opportunity to reach the pre-playoffs of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League under their own steam on Friday, as the tenth-placed team would definitely qualify for the postseason with a win against HC TESLA Orli Znojmo, and with a win after regulation there would even be a minimal chance of reaching the top six – depending on the other gmes. Seventh-placed HC TESLA Orli Znojmo has direct playoff qualification as its goal in the remaining two games. A continuation of its run, last time the seventh-ranked scored four times in a row, would guarantee a dramatic final on Sunday. The Czechs have been very strong in their last two road games, remaining without conceding a goal and winning in Ljubljana and Klagenfurt. The team of ICE’ top scorers Radek Prokes (25G|26A) and Anthony Luciani (17G|34A) picked up seven points from their three season meetings with Graz so far.
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: EC Red Bull Salzburg – HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie
Referees: GROZNIK, TRILAR, Seewald, Snoj. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie must prevail at EC Red Bull Salzburg to remain in the race for the pre-playoffs, as the Innsbruck side definitely need a win against the league leader and at the same time have to hope for a defeat of the Moser Medical Graz99ers. The "Haie" proved that they can hold their own against the six-time champions in their last duel on January 21st, with Innsbruck winning 3:1 at home and the Red Bulls the first two duels of the season. Brian Lebler will make his debut for Salzburg. The forward was loaned for the decisive phase of the season from ICE rival Steinbach Black Wings Linz, which no longer have a chance of making the playoffs. Lebler scored 25 this season so far.
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: Steinbach Black Wings Linz – Hydro Fehérvár AV19
Referees: FICHTNER, SIEGEL, Bedynek, Riecken. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz will finish the current season on 13th spot and thus last place in the table. In their last home game, they will face Hydro Fehérvár AV19, which became the third team to secure a quarterfinal ticket with a home win over Innsbruck on Tuesday. For the Hungarians, the last two gamedays - they host Dornbirn on Sunday - are still about second place in the standings, which would give them home advantage in a possible semifinal series and participation in the 2022/23 Champions Hockey League. To knock Villach out of second place, the Hungarians must score two more points than VSV in the remaining two games. For Linz, captain Brian Lebler is no longer in the squad, after he has been loaned out to Salzburg. Will Pelletier and Chris Rumble, who are suffering from an upper-body injury, are questionable for Linz.
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: Dornbirn Bulldogs – EC GRAND Immo VSV
Referees: BERNEKER, NIKOLIC K., Martin, Sparer. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The Dornbirn Bulldogs can tip the scales for second place. On Friday they play at home against the current second EC GRAND Immo VSV, on Sunday away at the current third Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The Villach team has the lead in the race for the second CHL ticket. This would be already on Friday, if they get two points more than parallel Fehérvár, fixed. Renars Krastenbergs will be back in the line-up for the Carinthians for the first time after his commitment with Latvia at the Olympic Games. Villach, which has won nine of its last ten games, will be without Nico Brunner and Benjamin Lanzinger.
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: HC Pustertal Wölfe – spusu Vienna Capitals
Referees: NIKOLIC M., OFNER, Basso, Pardatscher. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The duel between HC Pustertal Wölfe and spusu Vienna Capitals on Friday is the lone one between two teams from the top-6 and both are not yet directly qualified for the quarterfinals. Regardless of the outcome of Thursday's game between Ljubljana and Vienna, the league newcomer can't be ousted from the top-6 in any case with a home win after regulation. With a win after overtime or shootout, it would need help from Graz or Bolzano. For the Austrian capital side, the starting position depends on Thursday's game. The more points Dave Barr's team collects in Slovenia, the greater the chance of reaching the quarter-finals early on Friday. The "Wolves" had to admit defeat for the first time after seven wins in a row on Tuesday and against the "Capitals" it's all about the first win of the season: All three previous encounters went to Vienna, the last two they won without conceding a goal.
Fr, 25.02.2022, 7.15 pm: HK SZ Olimpija – HCB Südtirol Alperia
Referees: STERNAT, ZRNIC, Hribar, Zgonc. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
HK SZ Olimpija is currently in sixth place, would have a postseason ticket fixed - and can improve this situation significantly with a success in Thursday's game against Vienna. Right on Friday, the "Dragons" host HCB Südtirol Alperia, which no longer have a chance to reach the top-6 on their own. To keep the minimal chance alive, the South Tyroleans, for whom it is the last regular season game, need a win after regualtion. The last two newcomers should help: Goalie Andreas Bernard and defender Markus Kankaanperä had their first ice sessions in Bolzano on Thursday and are about to make their debut. Between the two teams it is only the second - and for the time being last - duel against each other, as the two cancelled games will not be made up. The Slovenians won the game on September 24th with a commanding 6:2.
