In the duel between Bregenzerwald and Cortina, the sixth-ranked team meets the tenth. Bregenzerwald already holds a nine-point advantage over Cortina, despite having played three fewer games. It is the third meeting between the two teams this season. So far, the side from Vorarlberg has narrowly prevailed twice in Cortina (3:2 SO and 4:3 OT). Cortina is currently winless in four games, while Bregenzerwald has won two of its last five.

Derby between Gherdeina and Ritten on Thursday
The first of Thursday’s two games will be the third derby of the season between HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. In their previous encounters, Ritten claimed two clear victories (5:2, 5:1). The teams also met during preseason, with Ritten coming out on top again. Both teams are currently in mixed form: Ritten, eighth in the standings, has won two of its last five games, while Gherdeina has recorded just one victory in its past eight outings. At home, however, Gherdeina has performed significantly better, winning six of nine games. Ritten, on the other hand, is still searching for its first regulation-time road win; its only away victory so far was an overtime success against Unterland—already one and a half months ago.

Merano facing a tough home game against Kitzbühel
Twelfth-placed HC Meran/o Pircher faces a challenging home game against fourth-ranked Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. In the second meeting between the two “Eagles” teams this season, the visitors are clear favourites, having won the first matchup 8:3. Kitzbühel is currently in outstanding form with nine wins from its last eleven games, while Merano has been waiting for a victory for six consecutive matches.
