In his new role as Sports Manager, Christian Dolezal, who most recently acted as interim coach, is also responsible for finding his successor as Head Coach. Together with the new head coach, Dolezal will be responsible for putting together the pro team in future.

"I'm looking forward to my new role as Sports Manager of the spusu Vienna Capitals. Although I also love coaching, I'm really looking forward to my new position. I can bring a lot of experience from various areas of the club to my new role. Personally, it's important to me not to lose sight of the long-term projects - keyword: junior department - despite the short-term tasks, which mainly concern the coming season. The club is bigger than any individual, and I will make my decisions accordingly," says the Caps' Sports Manager Christian Dolezal about his new role.

Franz Kalla ends his tenure as General Manager
The Vienna native's tenure included the championship title in the 2016/17 season, three runner-up finishes and seven Champions Hockey League appearances - now Franz Kalla is ending his tenure as General Manager. Together with President Schmid, he also managed to put the club on a broader footing by guiding the two managing directors Lukas Garhofer and Patrick Wondra and the current Sports Manager Christian Dolezal towards their existing and future tasks over the years. Franz Kalla will continue to represent the club as Vice President in various organisations.

"The past 16 years have been a wonderful experience for me. This time was exciting, intensive and varied, but also instructive for me. The club is well positioned for the future and I think Christian Dolezal is an excellent choice as Sports Manager of the spusu Vienna Capitals. His career at the club predestines him to take on this position. The organisation is in very ambitious and committed hands with the managing directors Lukas Garhofer and Patrick Wondra. Lukas, Patrick and Christian have worked tirelessly for the Caps in recent years and their attitude epitomises the values of the spusu Vienna Capitals. I will remain with the club in my role as Vice President and will continue to support the people involved. It has been an honour for me to work with and be part of the Caps organisation for 16 years," says Caps Vice President Franz Kalla.
