Dornbirn Bulldogs surprise against league leader Salzburg

The bottom of the league, the Dornbirn Bulldogs surprised at championship leader EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Bulldogs won with 2:1 abroad. The third-placed EC KAC also suffered a defeat. At the Graz99ers, the defending champion lost with 2:3. A comeback victory the HC Orli Znojmo celebrated at the Liwest Black Wings Linz. Just 19 seconds before the end of the game, the Czechs scored the 3:3. In the overtime Anthony Luciani shot the decisive 4:3. Also after extra time, the EC Panaceo VSV won at Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The HCB Südtriol Alperia could celebrate a clear victory in the Tyrol-Derby.

VSV celebrates overtime victory in Fehérvár
The EC Panaceo VSV also decided the second meeting with Hydro Fehérvár AV19 for themselves - this time, however, the Villacher had to go in extra time. After a goalless start period Brodie Reid brought the Villacher in the lead. The Hungarians equalised the game in the second period thanks to Felix Girard. Due to a goalless third period the match went into overtime. In this Reid scored the second goal of the evening. Despite the success of Villach, the gap to the important Top-5 has grown to two points.

Dornbirn surprises against league leader Salzburg
The Dornbirn Bulldogs celebrated just against the league leaders the first success since the opening victory in September. Before the International Break, Kai Suikkanen took over as head coach at the Dornbirn Bulldogs. In his third game with the Bulldogs it was the first victory. The EC Red Bull Salzburg could not gain a point for the first time since the 18th October. The goals of Dornbirn were scored by Robin Gartner and Juhani Tamminen. John Hughes scored the only goal for the Red Bulls, which still have a five point lead in the league.



Bolzano with victory in the Tyrolean derby

The HCB Südtirol Alperia won the second Tyrolean derby of the season. After balanced 40 minutes the foxes found their way to success in the final period. The South Tyroleans had lots of chances but the new goaltender of Innsbruck Scott Darling saved almost all shots. However, in the 25th minute, Domenico Alberga scored the 1000th Regular Season goal of Bolzano in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Lukas Bär could equalise the game for Innsbruck. In the final period the Foxes were the better team and scored three more goals and finally won the game clearly wit 4:1.



Znojmo with a strong finish to overtime victory

The HC Orli Znojmo came through a strong finish against the Liwest Black Wings Linz to a overtime victory abroad. The duel between the two table neighbors kept the tension it promised. The Linzer started successfully and scored the lead in the sixth minute. With two goals in the first period the guests took the lead still in the first period. The 2:1 by Anthony Luciani was also the 500th overall goal of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga this season. However, Linz conquered the lead due to goals in the second and third period. Only 19 seconds before the end of the game, Robert Flick scored and therefore brought his team into extra time, in which Anthony Luciani scored the decision with his second goal of the evening. With the 4:3 OT success, the Czechs reduced the gap to Linz to three points.



99ers win Top-5 duel

The Graz99ers succeeded in the second pack derby of the season against the EC-KAC. For the 99ers, it was the first success against the EC-KAC after six consecutive defeats in this duel. Daniel Oberkofler played his 800th game in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The 99ers started more efficiently in the match and earned a 2:0 lead after the first 20 minutes. However, the EC-KAC proved comeback qualities and equalised the game in the second period. Dwight King shot the decisive goal in the final period for Graz.
