With the 4:3 win after shootout the Dornbirn Bulldogs took revenge on the 1:3 loss in the first season encounter at the beginning of October. The Vorarlberg side had a successful opening frame, as Anton Straka (7.) opened the scoring in a “Rotjacken” power phase. After the hosts tied it thanks to a deflection of Thomas Hundertpfund (15.), the guests stroke back with two goals within 1,5 minutes, as Andrew Yogan (16.) and Sam Antonitsch (18.) scored.

Further, the Klagenfurt side got control of the game and halved the deficit right at the beginning of the second with Lukas Haudum (22.). After the home team survived two box play occasions late in the second, including one big chance of Dornbirn’s Kevin Macierzynski, the “Rotjacken” tied it at the beginning of the last as Fredrik Eriksson (42.) scored. Despite chances on both ends, the final frame remained goalless, like the overtime, which was dominated by the EC-KAC. Finally, Dornbirn grabbed the extra point in the shootout.
